music: caroline polachek "desire i want to to turn into you"
i just rediscovered this excellent album over the weekend.
it's one of those works where i have to ask myself... why have i not been listening to this more often?
it's genuinely great. it goes everywhere. it is unexpected. and polachek's vocal range is just truly impressive.
"bunny is a rider" is the standout track here but far far far from the only thing worth listening to on the album (an experience more rare by the day: if artists put out albums at all they seem to mostly be filler around the one good song).
addendum: "sunset" is easily my fave song to sing along with. harmonies are amazing and that stop/start beat just makes me want to groove and reminds me vaguely and complimentary of something the books might have put together.
