how to write about writing

i find movies about making movies incredibly tiresome. just like i find books about writing books. i think anything meta like that--unless it's something i do and care about doing--kind of navelgazeish.

oh also blogs about blogging.

bare with me here: this post is not a blog about blogging. it is (perhaps) a blog about blogging about blogging which i think is just enough levels of meta away (and thus rolls up movies about movies etc etc) to be interesting.

but using the form to talk about the form is one of those things you only think is interesting because you're doing it. if anything it speaks to a degenerated theory of mind where you can't imagine anyone not finding your thing fascinating.

i'm find with this sort of loopback once in a while. i quite liked adaptation (the movie) for instance.

but for every one of those there's a thousand of the other kind. the sort of thing hollywood likes to give awards to. babylon for instance. not good!

same with blogging about blogging. i assure you enough has been said on the matter. it just comes across like you have nothing else to say.

blogging about blogging about blogging though? genius. *chefs kiss*
